Trent Dementia is a local charity that offers a #1000MilesWalk project for people living with dementia to become more active. It aims to encourage patients with dementia and carers to increase their activity by walking around the house or in their garden for half an hour every day. These steps will be logged via a free pedometer and emailed to Trent Dementia to be counted up to reach the 1000 mile goal. They will then be sent to the Country Walking magazine for a chance of winning the #1000MilesWalk medal.
They also have an online group to help people living with dementia to become more active, by encouraging them to take photos of the flowers, trees and nature they see whilst on their walks.
