65 and over:
Our flu vaccination clinics are taking place on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September 2020 for patients aged over 65 years. We will be in contact with you to safely arrange appointment times. In the meantime, if you need to contact us for any another reason (such as booking an appointment or requesting a prescription), please also ask to book in for your flu vaccine at the same time!
We’re currently also booking flu vaccination appointments for under 65’s. We will be inviting those eligible in for a flu vaccination by telephone however feel free to ring and ask to be booked in! These will be booked appointments rather than drop-in clinics.
Booking your Flu vaccine:
*Please note that people in the 50 to 64 year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50 to 64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from flu, you will be invited earlier.*
This year the flu vaccine is being offered on the NHS to:
- adults 65 and over
- people with certain medical conditions (including children in at-risk groups from 6 months of age)
- pregnant women
- people living with someone who’s at high risk from coronavirus (on the NHS shielded patient list)
- children aged 2 and 3 on 31 August 2020
- children in primary school
- children in year 7 (secondary school)
- front line health or social care workers
Later in the year, the flu vaccine may also be given to people aged 50-64.
